When I read the news about the project between Sam Altman and Jony Ive, I felt a strange echo. A bit like when no one believed in the iPhone⦠And yet.
Jony Ive worked closely with Steve Jobs. He witnessed, from the inside, how we can redefine the way we interact with technology. And now, heās back. This time, with AI.
I wonder if weāre witnessing the first steps of a new kind of object. A new interface. A different relationship with machines.
But⦠heading towards what, exactly?
A device even more centered on us than todayās smartphone ā which for some, already feels far too invasive in everyday life?
Iām truly curious about what will be proposed.
Iām neither blindly technophile, nor nostalgically technophobic. But I observe. And I reflect. Sometimes, I feel like weāre rushing ahead, getting carried away ā and forgetting to think about what comes after.
Weāre living through a revolution, and itās only just beginning. Weād do well to move forward with our eyes wide open.
Whether weāre for or against it, AI is here to stay. Itās imposing itself, yes. But the meaning we choose to give it still belongs to us.
Iād like an AI that assists me ā not one that overwhelms me. A truly personal, local tool. Not just another gateway to the cloud.
Part of me is excited by this futuristic vision. Another part is cautious. Because every major technological shift has two faces.
If weāre going to redefine the interface⦠Maybe we should also redefine the connection.
So, io⦠Will you be an interface that changes our everyday lives? Or merely our own reflection in the mirror?
